Jukes, Mavis. Growing Up: It's a Girl Thing. Knopf Books for Young Readers, 1998. Imparts the information vital to a young woman's early development, explores puberty firsts. Ages 9 – 12.

Madaras, Lynda. Ready, Set, Grow!: A What's Happening to My Body? Book for Younger Girls. Newmarket Press, 1st edition, 2003. A spin off directed at younger girls who are anticipating or undergoing the body's first changes. Ages 9 – 12.

Pascoe, Elaine. Teen Dreams: The Journey Through Puberty. Blackbirch Press, 2004. A look at the incredible changes that take place during puberty. Ages 10 – 14.

Schaefer, Valorie. The Care & Keeping of you: The Body Book for Girls (American Girl Library). American Girl, 1998. A preteen girl's guide to basic health and hygiene, from braces to bras, periods, hair care to healthy eating. Ages 9 – 12.
